Open QRCode Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 14, 2026

Open QRCode (“App”) is provided by Fuzhou Nengwen Technology Co., Ltd (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains the information involved when you use the App, why it is collected, how we protect it, and the choices available to you.

We are responsible for the personal information whose collection and use we determine.

1. Children’s Privacy

You must be at least 18 years old and have reached the legal age of majority in your place of residence to use Open QRCode.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from users who do not meet these age requirements. If we learn that such information has been collected, we will take reasonable steps to delete it and stop further collection. Please contact us if you believe a minor has provided personal information through the App.

2. Information We Use and Collect

The information involved depends on the features you use, the services enabled in the App, and your privacy choices.

Content used for App features. The App accesses text, URLs, telephone numbers, email addresses, and other supported information you provide to generate QR codes. Scanning and optical character recognition (“OCR”) involve images, recognized QR code content, and extracted text. Digital business cards contain the details you choose to include, which may identify you or another person.

Preferences and history. The App saves information related to your selected theme, settings, and history features, including supported content retained for later review.

Technical and advertising information. Depending on the services integrated into the App and the permissions you grant, we or our service providers may receive device model, operating system and App version, language, IP address, diagnostic records, feature interactions, and advertisement views or clicks. Access to the device’s advertising identifier is subject to the tracking permission described below.

Information you send us. When you contact support, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you provide. Please avoid including personal details that are unnecessary for handling your request.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to provide QR code creation and scanning, text extraction, digital business card creation, history, and your selected preferences.

Technical information helps us investigate errors, maintain reliable operation, and prevent misuse. Contact information allows us to answer questions and handle support requests.

Advertising information supports advertisement delivery, measurement, and fraud prevention. Advertising personalization or tracking takes place only after obtaining the permissions and consent required for those activities.

Where the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) applies, necessary feature-related processing is carried out to provide the services you request. Processing for security and troubleshooting may rely on our legitimate interests, balanced against your rights. Activities requiring consent rely on your consent, while certain records or disclosures may be necessary to meet legal obligations. Legitimate interests do not replace consent where consent is required.

4. Advertising and Your Choices

Open QRCode is supported by in-app advertising. Advertising services may use the technical and advertising information described above, subject to your choices and applicable legal requirements.

Where tracking across other companies’ apps or websites, or access to the Identifier for Advertisers (“IDFA”), requires permission under Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (“ATT”) framework, we will request that permission before the activity takes place.

Declining tracking permission does not prevent you from using the App. You can change this permission through your device’s privacy settings.

Any additional consent required for advertising will be requested separately. Reading this policy or continuing to use the App does not, by itself, provide that consent. Declining personalized advertising does not necessarily remove advertisements.

5. Storage and Retention

Saved history and preferences are retained to support the features you use. Support correspondence is kept for the time needed to address your request and any related follow-up. Technical and advertising records are retained according to their purpose, security needs, relevant service arrangements, and legal requirements.

We do not retain personal information indefinitely merely because it might be useful in the future. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or remove identifying details, unless a legal requirement justifies further retention.

Uninstalling the App does not necessarily delete information previously received by us or third-party services. You may contact us to request deletion of information for which we are responsible.

6. Information Security

We take reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or loss. These measures include limiting access to people who need it for their duties and protecting information during storage and transmission.

No electronic system or network can be guaranteed completely secure. If an incident requires notification, we will notify the relevant authorities and affected individuals as required by law.

7. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We may share information with service providers that support advertising, technical operation, diagnostics, and user support. Sharing is limited to what is necessary for the relevant purpose. We require recipients to provide appropriate protection consistent with this policy and their applicable legal obligations.

Information may also be disclosed where necessary to meet a valid legal requirement, respond to an authorized request, address fraud or security threats, or establish or defend legal claims.

When you choose to share a QR code, extracted text, or digital business card, the people or services you select receive the content you share. External websites and services you access have their own privacy practices. Their separate policies do not remove our responsibility for information we disclose.

For other disclosures requiring your consent, we will request your consent before sharing.

8. Data Transmission and International Transfers

Information needed for connected services may be transmitted over networks and processed in countries or regions where we or our service providers operate. Those countries or regions may have different data protection rules from your own.

Where the GDPR applies, transfers outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”) must use a valid transfer arrangement. This may include transferring information to a destination recognized as providing adequate protection or using approved Standard Contractual Clauses (“SCCs”), together with additional safeguards where necessary.

Network security measures alone do not replace these transfer requirements.

You may contact us for information about relevant destinations, recipients, and the safeguards used, including how to obtain a copy of those safeguards.

9. Your Rights Under the GDPR

Where the GDPR applies, you have the following rights concerning your personal information, subject to the conditions and exceptions established by law:

  1. Right to Be Informed. You have the right to receive clear information about how we collect, use, share, and retain your personal information.
  2. Right of Access. You may ask whether we process your personal information and request a copy, together with information about that processing.
  3. Right to Rectification. You may request correction of inaccurate personal information or completion of incomplete information.
  4. Right to Erasure. You may request deletion of your personal information in qualifying circumstances, such as when it is no longer needed, subject to applicable legal exceptions.
  5. Right to Restrict Processing. You may request limits on how we use your personal information in certain circumstances, including while we verify information whose accuracy you dispute.
  6. Right to Data Portability. Where automated processing is based on consent or a contract, you may receive information you provided in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format and have it transferred directly to another data controller where technically feasible.
  7. Right to Object. You may object, for reasons relating to your particular circumstances, to processing based on legitimate interests. You may object to direct marketing at any time, including related profiling.
  8. Right to Withdraw Consent. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
  9. Rights Regarding Automated Decisions. Subject to legal exceptions, you have the right not to be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing, including profiling, that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Where applicable, you may request human intervention, express your views, and challenge the decision.
  10. Right to Lodge a Complaint. You may complain to a competent data protection authority, particularly in the EU Member State where you live, work, or believe an infringement occurred.

10. How to Exercise Your Rights

Send your request to [email protected]. Describe the right you wish to exercise and provide enough information to help us locate the relevant records. Where we have reasonable doubts about your identity, we may request additional information needed to verify it.

For requests under the GDPR, we will respond within the time limits required by applicable law.

If relevant content exists only on your device and is not accessible to us, we will explain that limitation and the available options for managing it.

11. Updates to This Policy

We may update this policy when our features, data practices, or legal requirements change. The revised version will display a new “Last Updated” date.

For material changes, we will provide notice through the App or another appropriate method before the changes take effect where required by law. If a new use requires your consent, we will request it before beginning that use.
